Pakkiraiah, G. Nowadays in order to meet the increase in power demands and to reduce the global warming, renewable energy sources based system is used. Out of the various renewable energy sources, solar energy is the main alternative. In order to get maximum output from a PV panel system, an extensive research has been underway for long time so as to access the performance of PV system and to investigate the various issues related to the use of solar PV system effectively. This paper therefore presents different types of PV panel systems, maximum power point tracking control algorithms, power electronic converters usage with control aspects, various controllers, filters to reduce harmonic content, and usage of battery system for PV system. Attempts have been made to highlight the current and future issues involved in the development of PV system with improved performance. A list of research publications on this is appended for reference.
Simulation and Analysis of Various Techniques Used for MPPT Solar Charge Controller
The need for renewable energy sources is on the rise because of the acute energy crisis in the world today. The main limitation for the saturation and reach of solar PV systems is their low efficiency and high capital cost. In this thesis, we propose a schematic to extract maximum obtainable solar power from a PV module and use the energy for a DC application. The output power of a PV panel is a function of temperature, radiation and the position of panel.
Abstract Photovoltaic generation is the technique which uses photovoltaic cell to convert solar energy to electric energy. Nowadays, PV generation is developing increasingly fast as a renewable energy source. However, the disadvantage is that it has very low efficiency and PV generation is intermittent because it depends considerably on weather conditions.
